2012 Hyundai Veloster – Good Value for Your Money

Hyundai would be bringing out yet another sleek and funky model with a smart front-wheel-drive in the form Hyundai Veloster 2012. It subtly resembles the early Honda CRX, which has been a forerunner in the small car segment of Honda, which went on to become one of the favourite choices of amateur racers and first time car owners especially. Veloster is a smart coupe like hatchback with a rather unusual design of just one door on the driver, but two doors on the passenger side, which gives it a retro touch.

This interesting design of the centre stack and controls that resemble a sport bike fuel tank and air vents evoking tailpipesofHyundai Veloster 2012 is thought to be inspired by the power packed motorcycles that resemble a helmet visor. The center stack and controls that resemble a sport bike fuel tank and air vents evoking tailpipes also are strongly influenced by the two wheeler design.

The Hyundai Veloster 2012 is has a cargo space measures up to 15.5 cubic feet and weighs only 2,584 pounds, making it breezy and light. Veloster has received some of the best car reviews in recent times. An all-new drivetrain debuts on the 2012 Veloster. It is driven by a 1.6-liter, four-cylinder Gasoline Direct Injection (GDI) Gamma engine, which can reach up to 138 horsepower at 6300 rpm and maximum torque of 123 lb.-ft. at 4850 rpm. An Active Eco mode shifts at lower RPMs for improved fuel economy, which is expected to be around 40 miles per gallon.

Hyundai's smallest GDI engine uses Dual Continuously Variable Valve Timing and an electronic throttle control to increase performance and decrease emissions. It is expected to have a fuel economy of 40 miles per gallon.

There are two variants of a six-speed manual and a six-speed dual-clutch transmission with shift paddles. It is expected to cost around $17,500 for the base model whereas the top range models of Veloster are priced around $23,000. Some of the features include chrome exterior trim, foglights, a panoramic sunroof, 18inch wheels, rearview camera, navigation, Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD), stability control, six airbags and an upgraded audio system. The spacious interiors, the ample head and leg room, a quiet engine coupled with some of the latest features make it a real value for your money. Some of the best car reviews hint that the Veloster, expected to hit the market in the third quarter of this year, will be a popular choice among the hot hatch category in the days to come.
